Would you like to become a technology consultant?
Consultants at the learning commons know how to interact with their peers in a supportive, non-judgmental way. They also know a lot about their subject matter and are always eager to learn more. The various branches of the learning commons have different ways of determining who will be a consultant, but most consultants are selected after receiving a faculty recommendation and going through an interview. They then undergo training to help them prepare to work as consultants.
Learning Commons technology consultants are familiar with many kinds of software packages such as MS Office Suite, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, ftp, and the standard software installed on Allegheny's public computers. Other skills include digital video production, file management, scanning, and podcasting.
If you'd like to be a technology consultant, contact Helen McCullough, 322B Pelletier Library, Box 118.
